Coordination and Communication Act as the central point of contact between the newsroom and technical teams. Communicate system status updates, changes, and potential impacts to all stakeholders. Shift Management Work in shifts to provide 17/7 (6am to 11pm, 7 days a week) coverage for the newsroom’s technical needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Document and hand over unresolved issues or tasks to the next shift to ensure continuity. Training and Support Train newsroom staff on proper use of technical software and equipment Develop user guides or quick-reference materials for common technical procedures. Emergency Preparedness Collaborate in the development of contingency plans for technical failures during critical newsroom operations. Participate in regular drills to ensure readiness for emergencies. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Broadcast Technology, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Strong technical aptitude with knowledge of newsroom systems, video editing software, broadcast equipment, and IT infrastructure. Experience with Newsroom Computer Systems (NRCS) like Dalet, Avid, Octopus, or similar newsroom management tools is a plus. Proficiency in English (C1/C2), with French being an asset. Ability to prioritize and remain calm under pressure in a live news environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration. The Bureau Chief has a role of representation outside and promotion in the concerned geographical area. This role will be based in Tashkent and can quickly become well connected with the local production landscape to build a team quickly to deliver an intense production schedule. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The role, as Bureau Chief of Euronews Uzbekistan will be to: Lead the Tashkent’s teams: the bureau chief leads the overall operations to produce a variety of output on television and digital at the highest standards, ensuring the editorial integrity and respect of Euronews’ fundamental editorial values. Oversee the Hiring &amp; Manage the team based in Tashkent: work closely with Euronews’ HQ , Brussels and corporate management to recruit staff, manage the start-up and overall operations of the office. Hire, coach and supervise producers and tech crew: share knowledge and experience of producing first class content to help train and lift the skills and expertise of the newly formed team. Plan and manage all daily operations to ensure the most efficient operations and the highest production standards. Representation: represent Euronews on the ground in Uzbekistan and build deep and strong relations with local partners. Track Bureau Budgets: work closely with Euronews’ productions to ensure the most efficient operational and budgets-respect processes to deliver content efficiently and on time. Quality Control: work with the central Euronews newsroom to put in place measures to ensure a rigorous process for quality control by leading and overseeing all assignments, scripts, edits and deliveries.
