MAIN DUTIES

The Broadcast Journalist Intern supports the Broadcast Journalist in his/her every day tasks:

- covering target stories on varied themes, driven by the news.

- Working in television and on digital platforms, in line with “Africanews” editorial values and producing packages that meet high quality standards. He/she is fully responsible for the quality and accuracy of the news delivered.

-  Production of packages, and all associated tasks (editorial selection of footage, editing, infographics, script, voicing production, and mixing). These packages have the distinctive feature that the same journalist also delivers them across all digital media, adapting and supplementing the content in order to supply the digital publication channels, including social media.

The Broadcast Journalist intern reports to his/her tutor.

MAIN TASKS

• Researching information on specific stories
• Writing, adapting and mixing stories broadcasted on air and on digital platforms
• Organising his document search across various media
• Helping on the coordination of interviews and the interviews translations

PRE-REQUISITES

• Currently studying journalism at a French university, with a valid internship agreement (convention de stage).
• Languages: English, Swahili appreciated
• Knowledge of Video Editing Skills
• General knowledge enabling to cover diverse stories
• Strong awareness and interest in international politics, sports, economics life and culture
• A first experience of writing news products
• Takes particular care to adapt script to footage
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Proactiveness, self-initiative, responsiveness
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Adaptability and integrity

About the position
- Position available as an internship, starting ASAP 
- Valid internship agreement (convention de stage).
- Duration: 6 month ideally
- Location: Lyon HQ
