Context:

The Broadcast Journalist Intern supports the Broadcast Journalist in his/her every day tasks:

  • Covering target stories on varied themes, driven by the news.
  • Working in television and on digital platforms, in line with “Africanews” editorial values and producing packages that meet high quality standards. He/she is fully responsible for the quality and accuracy of the news delivered.
  • Producing packages, and all associated tasks (editorial selection of footage, editing, infographics, script, voicing production, and mixing). These packages have the distinctive feature that the same journalist also delivers them across all digital media, adapting and supplementing the content to supply the digital publication channels, including social media.
  • Participating in the coordination of interviews and translations.

The Broadcast Journalist intern reports to his/her tutor.

Main responsibilities:

As part of the internship, we propose the following missions:

  • Researching information on specific stories and organizing the document search across various media
  • Writing, adapting and mixing stories broadcasted on air and on digital platforms
  • Conducting interviews and translating interviews included in certain stories

Your profile:

  • Currently studying journalism at a French university, you have a first experience in writing news products.
  • Languages: English, Swahili appreciated
  • Knowledge of video-editing skills
  • General knowledge allowing the coverage of diverse stories.

You are keen on international political, economic, and cultural challenges as well as sports events, demonstrating your adaptability. You are recognized for your teamworking and interpersonal skills. You can evolve in a dynamic environment and use synthetic and reactive abilities. You portray your line of work as neutral and informative.


About the position:

  • Duration: internship agreement (convention de stage) of 4 to 6 months
  • Starting date: as soon as possible
  • Location: 56, quai Rambaud – 69002 Lyon (tramway T1, « Musée des Confluences » stop)
