Since 1993, Euronews has been the leading international news media in Europe, resulting in a unique European identity and multilingual model in 20 languages (13 language editions and five branded affiliates). 

Euronews launched a bureau in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2025 which produces a variety of current affairs content, including several shows focused on heritage, culture, business and regional personalities.   

The bureau is now recruiting content producer / translator in Turkish language.  

ROLE OVERVIEW  

The Turkish Content Producer / Translator adapts and localizes already-produced Euronews content (text, video, graphics) for the Turkish-speaking audience. All source material is provided; the Producer/Translator's role begins once content has already been verified and cleared up for publication. 

Reports to: Turkish Team Manager (Turkish language service) 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Note: this list is not exhaustive and may evolve depending on editorial needs and priorities 

• Translate and localize Euronews articles, scripts, and web content from English into Turkish, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance  

• Write Turkish-language titles, subtitles, keywords, and hashtags aligned with existing editorial guidance  

• Adapt approved video packages for Turkish audiences: subtitling, voiceover recording, and light video editing (Adobe Premiere / DaVinci Resolve)  

• Format and publish already-approved content across Euronews' digital platforms (CMS)  

• Edit and prepare photos and infographics in line with copyright and formatting standards  

• Monitor basic audience engagement metrics on published Turkish content and report findings to the Turkish Team Manager  

• Share published content with other language teams for cross-promotion  

• Flag translation or localization issues (e.g., ambiguous phrasing, terminology gaps) to the central or regional editorial team 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

Language & Translation Skills 

• Native or near-native Turkish (C2), with flawless spelling, grammar, and command of different registers (formal vs. casual/social media) 

• Fluent English (C1+), able to understand nuanced source content (international affairs, technical terminology, idiomatic expressions) and convey it accurately in Turkish without losing meaning or over-literal translation 

• A third language (French, Russian, Arabic) is a plus for cross-checking secondary sources 

 

Education & Experience 

• Bachelor's to master’s degree in translation, applied languages, communications, or related field; specialization in audiovisual translation or multimedia localization is a strong plus 

• Minimum 3 years' experience in translation, subtitling, or multimedia localization, ideally in a media environment or audiovisual translation agency 

• Demonstrated experience across formats (web articles, video scripts, subtitles, social captions) and ability to work under tight deadlines with regular production volumes 

 

Technical Skills 

• Proficiency with CMS platforms; basic video (Adobe Premiere/DaVinci Resolve) and photo editing skills; familiarity with subtitling/timecoding tools 

• Good command of standard office and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Trello, or equivalents) 

 

Market & Cultural Knowledge 

• Solid knowledge of Turkish/Turkish-diaspora digital platforms (Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok) and audience preferences 

• Understanding of cultural codes and editorial sensitivities across the Turkish-speaking world, with the ability to adapt content culturally, not just linguistically 

 

Writing Skills 

• Excellent Turkish writing: clarity,  structure and rigorous attention to spelling/punctuation/terminology 

• Ability to craft SEO- and engagement-optimized titles, keywords, and hashtags without distorting the source meaning

CONTRACT INFORMATION   

• Location: Baku, City Center, Azerbaijan 

• Type of Contract: fixed term contract 

• Duration: 12-month contract  

• Working hours: Full-time. Subject to shifts (legal week hours) 

• Contract start date: asap  

• Salary range annual gross salary of 38 000 - 42 000 AZN upon profiles and experience
