Mission :

The Product Manager - News is responsible for structuring and prioritizing the digital editorial product roadmap, ensuring the newsroom's needs are effectively integrated. 

Based in Brussels, this role requires close collaboration with the editorial team and key editorial stakeholders (newsroom, editorial innovation, Europe teams,…) while maintaining strong coordination with product, design and technical teams in Lyon, responsible for the website, mobile applications, and CMS global delivery roadmap.

This role supports and collaborate with product team in Lyon mainly by :
  • Translating editorial priorities into structured digital projects, challenging newsroom requests by evaluating their impact through business and audience metrics 
  • Facilitating communication between editorial, product and tech teams  
  • Collecting, triaging, and clarifying newsroom feedback to ensure clear priorities 
  • Supporting product lifecycle, with new ideas, research, analysis and recommendations (benchmarks, audience insights, surveys, UX analysis)  
  • Supporting the newsroom in effectively adopting new features, ensure their proper use, provide reminders, share results and successes, and promote best practices.
The focus is on enhancing the Euronews digital experience, making it premium, engaging, and attractive for a direct audience. Key objectives include increasing page views, video consumption, and engagement, while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow for editorial teams.

The role demands an autonomous, proactive, strategic mindset, capable of fostering strong collaborations across digital and broadcast teams. It requires expertise in product innovation, digital/AI news experiences, and audience growth, ensuring the newsroom's editorial ambitions align with technological capabilities.

The position is reporting to the Head of digital products (based in Lyon).  
 
Activities :
  • Drive editorial product discovery, evaluating and structuring digital projects ahead of execution. 
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, to validate concepts before product framing and tech implementation 
  • Act as the bridge between Brussels and Lyon, ensuring editorial needs are effectively communicated and integrated into product workflows. Maintain structured collaboration with Lyon product teams (CMS, web, app) to provide editorial insights, communicate newsroom priorities, and support project execution. 
  • Act as a key partner for editorial innovation projects, ensuring alignment between newsroom objectives and product evolution. 
  • Foster a strong connection with the newsroom, including broadcast teams, to ensure seamless integration between digital and TV workflows. 
  • Ensure newsroom stakeholders are engaged and informed on upcoming digital developments, promoting best practices and adoption of new features. 
  • Manage external editorial tools (data visualization, live blogging) to enhance editorial storytelling. 
  • Balance multiple projects, ensuring strategic priorities align with newsroom needs and business goals. 
  • Conduct user research, audience analysis, and A/B testing to validate assumptions and improve product decisions. 
Profile :

Experience & Skills:
  • Fluency in French and English is required. 
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, preferably in digital media or news. 
  • Background in journalistic workflows, newsroom operations, and CMS management. 
  • Proven experience in discovery, prioritization, and execution of editorial digital projects. 
  • Ability to wireframe, prototype, and define user journeys. 
  • Facilitation skills, workshop organization 
  • Deep knowledge of SEO, audience engagement, and digital best practices. 
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. 
  • Experience working with Agile teams in a fast-paced environment. 
Soft Skills :

Additional Information: 
  • Work Location: Brussels 
  • Contract Type: Permanent 
  • Start Date: As soon as possible 
  • Travel : in Lyon, France and other European capitals is to be expected (2-3 days per month)
