Job summary
As part of our expansion, we are looking to recruit a Country Sales Manager, based in Berlin. This is an important role to strengthen our presence across the DACH region. The main focus will be on the German market, with the Swiss market also holding importance.
We are seeking a Country Sales Manager with a strong track record in sales and business development, particularly in prospecting and expanding into new markets. This role requires a strategic thinker with a commercial mindset, excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a deep understanding of client needs across multiple industries.
The Country Sales Manager is responsible for the delivery of profitable international sales that are delivered across Euronews TV, Euronews.com, Africanews, and Africanews.com. These revenues include TV and digital advertising (direct and programmatic), sponsorship, all forms of content marketing, events as well as affiliate sales and other partnerships to develop new revenue streams for the Group.
In close collaboration with the Head of Commercial, W. Europe & N. America, to whom he/she reports, the Country Sales Manager forecasts and delivers sales targets and provides regular progress and performance updates. The role may also include the appointment and management of sales partners / agents, as required. The Country Sales Manager will be responsible for all advertising, content marketing and events revenues origination from their retrospective market(s).
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies and tactical plans to sell:
- Integrated and cross-platform packages across desktop, mobile, video, and branded content.
- Event sponsorship and branded content solutions, leveraging Euronews' brand.
- Establish a reputation as a trusted partner and thought leader, representing Euronews at trade organizations and events.
- Develop both high-level client relationships for our Key Accounts, as well as a network of key industry contacts.
- Provide regular reporting and status updates to senior management on sales performance, as well as on market conditions.
- Manage the expectations of multiple internal stakeholders and provide a key interface with peers on the co-ordination and development of global customers.
- Support international colleagues in their efforts to deliver revenues from all regions through the sharing of customer insight.
- Work closely with Editorial, Product, Marketing departments and wider business to develop products and services that will attract key customers/categories within your portfolio.
- Build a high profile within the industry, including taking opportunities to participate in industry forums/speaking opportunities and engaging with relevant industry bodies at the highest level.
- Drive collaboration and a positive working culture across all the sales teams (pre-sales, post-sales, distribution, partnership and trade marketing) and members from other departments (editorial or tech) in multiple territories.
Profile
- Degree level education, fluent to bi-Lingual in English, in addition to German fluency, with French considered a plus.
- At least 7+ Years’ Experience in Sales and Business Development; specializing in prospecting and developing associated markets, relevant to the role.
- In depth knowledge of the respective markets and a proven track record in developing strategies to approach and grow global accounts (securing strategic deals).
- Knowledge and strong contacts within the digital and television advertising industry, including traditional display, content solutions, and programmatic sales as a plus.
- More importantly, we seek hunger for growth, industry curiosity, and a passion for the Euronews brand and content.
- Understanding of editorially led organizations and the ability to align commercial initiatives with content strategy.
- Proven track record of building high-level relationships with clients, agencies, and corporate leaders across multiple industries (travel, finance & banking services, tech, healthcare as primary).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including editorial leadership, to drive revenue opportunities.
- A proven track record of delivering revenue growth across multiple platforms and building client and agency relationships at the highest level.
