About Euronews Academy  

Euronews Academy is the world-class media education and training system the Euronews Group created to empower students, young professionals and media executives with the latest journalism techniques to create content and successfully run a media in the new digital era. Euronews Academy is born out of partnerships with media institutions and universities to deploy regional educational hubs mainly in Eurasia and in the Middle East in order to train the next generation of local talents and share with them Euronews’ 32 years of experience in delivering highly trusted news, creating original stories and developing innovative formats. 

Mission:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven profile at the crossroads of the educational and editorial worlds to lead the Euronews Academy. This role is instrumental in shaping the Academy’s strategy, driving its growth, and ensuring its position as a leader in media education 

The Euronews Academy Manager Director reports to the head of the business development team (France) and works closely with Euronews global newsroom in Brussels, editorial offices, franchises and local projects managers of Euronews Academy hubs.     

Main Responsibilities:

Project management
 

  • Developing and implementing a long-term strategy for Euronews Academy to establish it as a premier provider of media and journalism training 
  • Identifying market opportunities and trends to drive the Academy’s growth and relevance in the industry 
  • Acting as the point of contact for questions from all our partners and clients 
  • Coordinating relationships with local partner universities in Eurasia and in the Middle East:  selection of students for shadowing and international internships program, setup of in-person lectures… 
  • Management of the local Euronews Academy managers, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration 

Trainings and courses 

  • Leading design and suggest syllabus and curriculum for the Euronews Academy programs, training modules and bootcamps in coordination with the local Euronews Academy managers 
  • Giving in-person lectures  
  • Delivering B2B training (for media and institutions) as part of the global Euronews Academy roster 
  • Collaborating with industry experts, educators, and internal teams to ensure high-quality and relevant content. 
  • Ensuring continuous evaluation and improvement of course offerings based on client feedback, market needs and new trends in the news industry and content production 

Outreach and visibility:  

  • Building and nurturing relationships with media organizations, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders to expand the Academy’s reach and impact. 
  • Exploring sponsorship and partnership opportunities to enhance the Academy’s offerings and resources. 
  • Representing Euronews Academy at industry events, conferences, and other networking opportunities. 

Profile :

  • Higher education diploma (Bachelor, Master’s preferred) 
  • Significant experience as journalist or as a journalism educator is a strong asset  
  • Knowledge of media and information literacy or curriculum development 
  • Leadership, autonomy and team management capabilities 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. 
  • Work experience in Eastern Europe and Eurasia is a plus 
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset 
  • Availability to travel  

Further information :

  • Location: Preference for Brussels – Any other EU capitals where Euronews has an office is possible (London, Berlin, Madrid, Lisbon, Rome, Warsaw, Budapest, Athens)  
  • Working hours: Full-time from Monday to Friday 
  • Contract start date: Q1 2025
