Role Overview
Reporting to the Chief Growth & Innovation Officer, the Head of Affiliates is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and growth of the Euronews affiliate and franchise network.
This role acts as the central liaison between Euronews headquarters and each local affiliate, ensuring editorial alignment, business performance, operational efficiency, and shared innovation across all territories.
The position requires a unique combination of business skills, editorial sensitivity, and project management expertise, serving as both a strategic partner and an operational driver for our local media partners.
Key Responsibilities
Network Management & Coordination
- Ensure day-to-day relationship management and coordination with all Euronews affiliates and franchise partners.
- Serve as the entry point for affiliates on all corporate topics: editorial, technical, marketing, finance, and legal matters.
- Develop and update semestrial action plans with each franchise, including objectives, innovation initiatives, and growth KPIs.
- Put in place and maintain data house and dashboard on franchise performance (editorial KPIs, audience metrics, financial milestones).
- Supervise the deployment of new on-air graphics, formats, and branding elements, ensuring compliance with Euronews identity guidelines.
Community & Engagement
- Organize the annual Euronews Affiliate Days, bringing together all partners for strategic discussions, knowledge-sharing, and networking.
- Host webinars and thematic workshops on best practices (examples of thematics: AI in media production, digital monetization, ad sales innovation, and newsroom coordination…)
- Develop a spirit of collaboration and peer exchange within the network, encouraging joint initiatives and co-productions.
- Coordinate affiliate participation in Euronews Summits and other global or regional events.
Editorial, Innovation & Development
- Supervise an editorial liaison ensuring seamless coordination of daily content exchange, key interviews, and major events with affiliates, in alignment with the Chief Content Officer and a dedicated resource in Brussels newsroom.
- Identify and share best practices across affiliates in content production, ad sales, technology use, and audience engagement.
- Contribute on the expansion and onboarding of new franchise projects
- Lead an internal “Affiliate Task Force” composed of cross-departmental experts (Editorial, Tech, Marketing, Finance, Legal) to respond swiftly to affiliate requests.
- Monitor industry trends (e.g. local franchise models, hybrid ownership structures, digital media growth) to continuously evolve the Euronews affiliation framework.
Reporting
- Maintain structured communication and reporting flows between affiliates and the HQ.
- Provide the Chief Growth & Business Innovation Officer with consolidated franchise updates and progress reports.
- Support financial forecasting and performance follow-up in coordination with Finance and Legal teams.
- Ensure proper implementation of Euronews’ editorial and brand guidelines across all affiliate operations.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in television, digital media, or international network management.
- Proven experience in franchise, project or partnership management, preferably in media
- Strong project management and organizational skills; experience managing complex, multicultural projects.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building abilities across C-level and operational stakeholders.
- Editorial sensitivity and understanding of newsroom dynamics.
- Agility and proactivity in problem-solving; ability to drive alignment and cohesion across diverse teams.
- Fluency in English (mandatory); additional languages such as Romanian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Albanian, or Georgian are a plus.
