The Role

As part of our commercial expansion in Southeast Europe, we are seeking a Sales Manager – Balkans to drive revenue growth and build a structured, sustainable commercial pipeline across the region.

The role covers Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, and North Macedonia. The position may be based in Belgrade, Zagreb, Bucharest, or Sofia, depending on the candidate profile.

The Sales Manager will report to the Director of Sales – Eurasia & Southeast Europe, based in Berlin.

This is a standalone commercial role dedicated to the Balkan region, with potential scope to support selected Central and Eastern European (CEE) markets depending on business development priorities.

The role focuses on generating advertising revenues and developing strategic partnerships across TV, digital, branded content, and event solutions — including integrated visibility programmes for tourism boards, public institutions, and corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies to drive advertising revenue growth
  • Build and manage a structured commercial pipeline across multiple Balkan markets
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across agencies, corporates, and public institutions
  • Sell integrated, cross-platform solutions including TV campaigns, digital advertising, sponsorships, branded content, and event partnerships
  • Maintain and grow long-term client relationships
  • Coordinate closely with internal commercial, editorial, production, and marketing teams
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and performance reporting
  • Represent Euronews at relevant industry events and market engagements

 Profile

  • 5–7 years of experience in media sales, advertising, or business development
  • Experience selling cross-platform solutions (TV and digital preferred)
  • Proven track record in new business development and client relationship management
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of digital advertising models and sponsorship solutions
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in one or more Southeast European languages (e.g. Serbian, Croatian, Romanian, or Bulgarian) is an advantage
  • Experience working with tourism, institutional, or public-sector clients is a plus
