Job summary
We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Operator for our brand new office in Warsaw.
This position of Multi-skilled Operator is dedicated to the production and broadcasting of live, on-set, and post-production programs.
The position reports to the Central Newsroom in Brussels and functionally to the Operations Departments depending on the covered domain (editing, studio, graphic design, Camera).

The Multi-Skilled Operator (MSO) works in coordination with the editorial, production, and events teams in Brussels.
They are required to take on multiple roles due to their versatility, including:
- ENG Camera reporter, the MSO ensures:
- Field Reporting: Capture high-quality footage and conduct interviews for news reports, features, and live broadcasts in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in operating Panasonic or Sony camera equipment, including troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
- Set Organization: Arrange lighting and set elements for interviews, ensuring optimal visual quality and professionalism in production.
- International News Gathering: collaborate with colleagues across borders to cover diverse stories and events, reflecting the global scope of Euronews' coverage.
- Multi-skilled Production: Utilize editing, studio, and control room skills as necessary to contribute to the end-to-end production process.
- Adobe Premiere / Dalet: Utilize editing software such as Adobe Premiere and Dalet for post-production tasks, with the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and workflows.

- Preparation with editorial managers: viewing and selection of rushes, search for additional images, development of the editing plan
- Final editing while ensuring technical and artistic quality and meeting production deadlines as best as possible
- Creation of different copies up to the final copy for on-air or digital broadcast
- Correct completion of production tracking sheets
- The MSO is responsible for the implementation of a technical service in the TV studio

- Technical preparation: setting up the set, checking and adjusting equipment

- Managing various recordings: remote interviews, on-set interviews, recordings of news launches, programme images, etc.
- Operating equipment: Cameras, lights, players and recorders, video mixer, audio console and equipment, production automation, cloud-based production system
- Operation of production techniques: Chromakey, Virtual Studio, real set
- For graphics and motion design, he/she is responsible for the graphic illustrations for all content.

- Design and create graphic elements (graphics, maps, etc.) upstream for any image production, based on the indications given by the journalists, in accordance with the conductor.
- Integrate associated sound illustrations.
- Propose illustrations, search for new ideas adapted to the context.
- Design templates for their subsequent use by other editorial team members
- Ensure the archiving of illustrations.
- He/she will carry out various tasks, such as:
- The operation of systems allowing the reception, processing and provision of external signals or files.
- Making and checking recordings.
- Management of media storage and transfer.
- Various video laboratory work (file transcoding).
- Management of preventive and first-level maintenance
- Technical support during a live TV show.
Your profile
- Experience: minimum 2-3 years in a similar position in a fast-paced multiplatform news media outlet and in at least two domains covered (ENG camera, studio, editing, graphic/motion design)
- Depending on the domain covered: great knowledge of graphic systems, editing tools (Adobe Premiere, Dalet), ENG techniques, multi-camera television and lighting techniques.
- Experience in the use of production and sound stage equipment
- Understanding of a newsroom working environment: organization and equipment (NRCS).
- General knowledge of the audio-visual industry, sensitivity to European current affairs
- Language skills: Excellent command and professional practice of Polish (C2 level). Fluent English (C1 minimum level). Proficiency in French and any additional “Euronews” languages is a plus.
- Adaptability: thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing news environment, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness in meeting tight deadlines and handling unexpected challenges.
- Problem-Solving: act as a "MacGyver" figure, adept at finding creative solutions to technical or logistical obstacles encountered in the field or during production.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across borders and disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility is essential as the role may require occasional weekend and night shifts.
