Euronews launched a bureau in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2025 which produces a variety of current affairs content, including several shows focused on heritage, culture, business and regional personalities.

OVERALL MISSION
The Producer performs a crucial role in the bureau and is in charge with the overall production process of different shows from planning to production, including field production all the way to anchoring, publishing and broadcasting. They can also take on anchoring responsibilities for one of the shows.
They will report hierarchically to the local Bureau Chief and functionally to Euronews Central Newsroom.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Producer will be a key element of the Baku team, and their role will be to:
- Lead daily editorial planning and agenda setting
- Develop storylines, editorial angles, and content formats
- Produce, script, and supervise news packages and segments
- Build and manage rundowns for live and recorded programs
- Oversee end-to-end production process (from concept to output)
- Write, edit, and finalize scripts and editorial content
- Supervise video editing and post-production processes
- Ensure accuracy, fact-checking, and editorial compliance
- Ensure alignment with Euronews editorial guidelines and standards
- Manage breaking news coverage and live production workflows
- Take real-time editorial decisions during live broadcasts
- Coordinate live segments, feeds, and on-air transitions
- Deliver on-screen contributions (live hits, voiceovers, presentations)
- Work across both editorial and sponsored content environments
- Ensure clear separation and compliance between editorial and commercial content
- Coordinate with reporters, correspondents, and journalists
- Liaise with technical teams, producers, and control room staff
- Collaborate with digital and social media teams for content distribution
- Adapt content for multi-platform delivery (TV, digital, social)
- Monitor output quality across all platforms
- Ensure timely delivery of all content
- Act as deputy for senior editorial leadership when required
- Ensure operational continuity in absence of senior management
- Manage workflow and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines
- Handle high-pressure situations with speed and accuracy
- Contribute to development of new formats and storytelling approaches
- Support implementation of editorial and production innovations
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Participate in onboarding and training processes
- Maintain internal communication with headquarters and management
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Support coordination of special projects and coverage
- Monitor audience engagement and adapt content accordingly
Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as may be assigned by Euronews Baku management based on operational needs

PRE-REQUISITES
- Education level required: 4/5 years’ higher education
- Language skills: excellent command and professional practice of English and Azerbaijani (near native level). Any additional “Euronews” languages like Russian is a plus.
- Experience in digital content production and storytelling, including on social media
- Track record in producing high quality content
- Exceptional ability in copywriting and editing
- Solid experience in anchoring / presenting in English and accustomed to working within a multicultural and multilingual setting
- Excellent eye for a story and good interview skills
- Broad general knowledge allowing him/her to cover a variety of topics
- Great knowledge and great interest for Azerbaijan and the CIS region
- Well-connected in the Region and active local network in the media production industry
- Able to understand Euronews processes, constraints, and production deadlines
- Knowledge of euronews.com and social platforms important
- Very good digital culture and fluency in the use of technology and web design
