Euronews Travel is Euronews’ new global initiative dedicated to inspiring and informing audiences about the world of travel. With a focus on sustainability, cultural exploration, and immersive storytelling, the channel aims to become a leading source for travel enthusiasts worldwide.
Reports to the Managing Editor and horizontally to the central newsroom management in Brussels (Head of Verticals), the Travel Journalist is an experienced specialist Travel journalist and producer, both on digital and television. The Travel Journalist drives the day-to-day content of the vertical under the direction of the managing editor, at the highest editorial and production standards, with the full respect of Euronews editorial values, principles and guidelines as well as operational processes.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensures the rollout and delivery of partnerships and commercial efforts, contributing to the development of editorial, marketing and commercial strategies aimed at increasing the traffic and revenues.
- Responsible for the day-to-day editorial selection, production, and output of the vertical, ensuring the relevancy, consistency, and performance of the content.
- Conducts the Front-Page Editing, SEO optimization, social media and contributes to the production of any television content.
- Responsible for planning content, events, creating an editorial calendar in conjunction with News, Sales, Partnerships, and so on, while leading the vertical daily meetings and participating in News-wide meetings.
- Creating and assigning to staff and freelancers the production of text and video content, articles, social media, interviews, infographics, live streaming, etc.
- Formatting and publishing third party, external content.
- Real-time monitoring of content performance through audience and performance analysis tools. Drives and ensures digital performance of content via audience and page view impact tools.
- Coordination with all content-related Euronews departments (graphics, IT) and the other content units of the bureau.
- Driving and fostering online community management.
- Creating links with the Euronews ecosystem, other verticals, the News teams, favoring multi-platform and cross-promotion with Euronews TV and Digital as well as events and partnerships products.
- In constant collaboration with Euronews Product, Audience and IT departments for the constant optimization and development of the platform and its content, evolutions of digital technologies.
- Ensures the legal and industry compliance of all published/ broadcast content, respect of video copyrights, industry standards, privacy.
- Proposes staffing solutions to the bureau chief who is ultimately responsible for all staffing changes, adaptations, evolution, promotion, and disciplinary aspects
Prerequisites:
- 4 or 5 years of higher education in Journalism, a journalist qualification or equivalent
- Strong experience as an journalist in a news media outlet with a multimedia approach to storytelling
Hard skills
- Excellent command of English (C1 level). Any additional language is highly appreciated.
- Project and workflow management skills, with the ability to coordinate workflows and set realistic deadlines.
- Strong digital culture and fluent user of technology.
- A solid understanding of and great passion for regional, European and world news.
- Excellent writing and oral abilities.
- Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills, with diverse team members and audiences.

- Location: Doha, with permanent contact with editorial offices and the headquarters of Euronews
- Contract: Fixed-term
