Euronews will launch a company in Baku, Azerbaijan which will produce a variety of content, including several shows focused on heritage, culture, business, and regional personalities.

Euronews Academy:
Euronews Academy in Baku is born out of a partnership with institutions to deploy a regional hub of Euronews Academy to train the next generation of local talents and share with them Euronews’ 31 years of experience in delivering highly trusted news, creating original stories and developing innovative formats.

OVERALL MISSION

As part of our new office, we are looking for an Academy Manager.

Reporting: The Euronews Academy Manager reports to the Bureau Chief and Corporate Euronews Academy Manager who is part of the Euronews Business Development team  in Lyon to design the training plan and local partners / universities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Academy Manager‘s role will be to:

Project management

  • Leading design, implementation and day-to-day management of the Euronews Academy operations in Azerbaijan
  • Acting as the point of contact for questions from partners and clients;
  • Coordinate relationships with local and regional partners, universities etc in selecting students for shadowing and internship, enrollment of students on the e-learning platform, setup of in-person lectures, etc.
  • Identifying and recruiting external trainers for on-site courses

 Education 

  • Leading, designing and suggesting syllabus and curriculum for the Euronews Academy in Baku
  • Giving in-person lectures
  • Creating courses on the e-learning platform
  • Delivering B2B training (for media and institutions) in the region and as part of the global Euronews Academy roster.

Outreach and visibility: 

  • Developing the visibility strategy in the region
  • Representing Euronews Academy at local and regional level
  • Attending and presenting Euronews Academy at conferences and industry events

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher education diploma (Bachelor, master’s preferred)
  • Significant experience as journalist or as a journalism educator
  • Knowledge of media and information literacy or curriculum development
  • Great knowledge and interest in the Eurasia region
  • Professional mastery of English, fluent in Azerbaijani, proficient in Russian is a plus.

FURTHER INFORMATION

  • Location: Baku City Center, Azerbaijan
  • Working hours: Full-time from Monday to Friday
  • Permanent contract linked to the partnership  
  • Contract start date: April / May 2025
