Since 1993, Euronews has been the leading international news media in Europe, resulting in a unique European identity and multilingual model in 21 languages (14 language editions and 7 branded affiliates).

Euronews will launch a bureau in Tashkent, Uzbekistan which will produce a variety of current affairs content, including several shows focused on heritage, culture, business, and regional personalities as well as news coverage. These programs, produced locally, are intended for a global audience and for a comprehensive view of Central Asia and of Uzbekistan.

Euronews Academy: 

The Euronews Academy will be developed in Baku as a regional hub of the global Euronews Academy to train the next generation of aspiring media professionals within Euronews’ decades-long experience in delivering highly trusted journalism across all platforms and editorial products.

OVERALL MISSION

As part of our new office, we are looking for an Academy Manager.

Reporting: The Euronews Academy Manager reports to the Bureau Chief and Corporate Euronews Academy Manager who is part of the Euronews Business Development team in Lyon to design the training plan and local partners / universities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Academy Manager ‘s role will be to:

Project management :

  • Lead, design, implement and manage the day-to-day operations of the Academy in Uzbekistan
  • Coordinate relationships with local and regional partners, universities etc in selecting students for shadowing and internship, enrollment of students on the e-learning platform, setup of in-person lectures, etc.
  • Identify and recruit external trainers for on-site courses

 Education :

  • Lead, design and suggest syllabus and curriculum for the Euronews Academy in Tashkent
  • Give in-person lectures
  • Create courses on the e-learning platform
  • Deliver B2B training (for media and institutions) in the region and as part of the global Euronews Academy roster.

Outreach and visibility : 

  • Develop visibility strategy in the region
  • Represent Euronews Academy at local and regional level
  • Attend and present Euronews Academy at conferences and industry events

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher education diploma (Bachelor, master’s preferred)
  • Significant previous experience as journalist or as a journalism educator
  • Knowledge of media and information literacy or curriculum development
  • Great knowledge and interest in the CIS region
  • Professional mastery of English, fluent in Uzbek, proficient in Russian is a plus.

FURTHER INFORMATION

  • Location: Tashkent City Center, Uzbekistan
  • Working hours: Full-time from Monday to Friday
  • Permanent contract linked to the partnership  
  • Contract start date: March 2025
