Euronews will launch an editorial and production bureau in Baku, Azerbaijan which will produce a variety of current affairs content, including several shows focused on heritage, culture, business, and regional personalities as well as news coverage. These programs, produced locally, are intended for a global audience and for a comprehensive view of Central Asia and of Azerbaijan.
They will be unique and unexpected bespoke shows, focusing on Central Asia, centered on Azerbaijan, with themes of cultural diversity and heritage, exciting economic potential and inspiring regional personalities.
Modern, dynamic and engaging the shows will be produced in English and will appear on Euronews.com and relevant social platform.

OVERALL MISSION
The Senior Producer & Anchor performs a crucial role in the bureau being in charge with the overall production process of different shows from planning to production, including field production all the way to anchoring, publishing and broadcasting. The Senior Producer will also take on anchoring responsibilities for one of the shows.
The Senior Producer & Anchor will report hierarchically to the local Bureau Chief and functionally to Euronews Central Newsroom management.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Producer & Anchor will be a key part of the Baku team, and his / her role will be to:
- Pre-Production: work closely with the Bureau Chief, Shows Production Teams and Digital Hub Newsroom to plan and manage all daily operations of their assignments to ensure we produce content at Euronews’ editorial and production standards
- Post-Production: coordinate the production of all television, digital and social content of the assigned shows
- Quality Control: work with the Bureau Chief to ensure a rigorous process for quality control by subbing scripts and overseeing edits, making sure we meet expectations when content is delivered
- Forward Planning: work closely with the Newsroom to develop coverage plans for upcoming events
- Present a show in English in a clear, concise, and factual manner according to Euronews standards
- Content, edit, present and conduct interviews at the highest editorial and production standards and respect of Euronews’ fundamental editorial values, identity, style and positioning
- Resolve issues as they arise: flexible approach to work and able to deal with issues
- Report on breaking news coverage in the region when required, including field deployment
- Assist with other duties as needed.
Skills
- Education level required: 4/5 years’ higher education – journalism qualification or equivalent
- Language skills: excellent command and professional practice of English and Azerbaijani (near native level). Any additional “Euronews” languages like Russian is a plus.
- Experience in digital content production and storytelling, including on social media
- Track record in producing high quality content
- Exceptional ability in copywriting and editing
- Experience in anchoring / presenting in English and accustomed to working within a multicultural and multilingual setting
- Excellent eye for a story and good interview skills
- Broad general knowledge allowing him/her to cover a variety of topics
- Great knowledge and great interest for Azerbaijan and the CIS region
- Well-connected in the Region and active local network in the media industry (journalists, production agencies...)
- Able to understand Euronews processes, constraints, and production deadlines
- Knowledge of euronews.com and social platforms important
- Very good digital culture and fluency in the use of technology and web design
