Since 1993, Euronews has been the leading international news media in Europe, resulting in a unique European identity and multilingual model in 17 languages (12 language editions and five branded affiliates). 

Euronews will launch an editorial bureau in Astana, Kazakhstan which will produce a variety of current affairs content, including several shows focused on heritage, culture, business and regional personalities as well as news coverage. These programs, produced locally, are intended for a global audience and for a comprehensive view of Central Asia and of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

OVERALL MISSION 

As part of our new office, we are looking for Senior Producers for unique and unexpected bespoke shows, focusing on Central Asia, centered on Kazakhstan, with themes of cultural diversity and heritage, exciting economic potential and inspiring regional personalities. 

Modern, dynamic and engaging the shows will be produced in English and will appear on Euronews.com and relevant social platform. 

The Senior Producers report hierarchically to the local Bureau Chief and his/her deputy and functionally to Euronews Central Newsroom. 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

The role, as Senior Producer, is to: 

• Be in charge with the overall production process of the assigned show, from planning to production, including field production all the way to publishing and broadcasting. 

• Pre-Production: work closely with the Bureau Chief, shows production teams and Digital Hub Newsroom to plan and manage all daily operations to ensure we produce the best content possible. 

• Post-Production: the role requires you to oversee the production of all digital and social content related to the show the SP is assigned to.    

• Quality Control: work with the Bureau Chief to ensure a rigorous process for quality control by subbing scripts and overseeing edits and making sure we meet expectations when content is delivered. 

• Forward Planning: Work closely with the Newsroom to develop fresh ideas for upcoming events and conferences. 

• Plan and approve assignments: work with project managers and production managers to ensure we are covered for upcoming productions. 

• Share Knowledge: The ideal candidate will also share their digital knowledge and experience with the rest of the team, so we are better placed to be a digital first content solutions department.   

• Resolve issues as they arise: The ideal individual for this role will need a flexible approach to work and able to deal with issues. 

 
QUALIFICATION LEVEL AND REQUIRED SKILLS 

Technical skills 

• Education level required: 4/5 years’ higher education – journalism qualification or equivalent 

• Excellent command and professional practice of English and Kazakh (near native level); proficiency in Russian is a plus. 

• Experience in digital content production and storytelling, including on social media 

• Track Record in producing high quality European content 

• Have a thorough knowledge of European environment issues 

• Exceptional ability in copywriting and editing 

• Ability to create, develop & execute exciting stories

• Location: Astana, Kazakhstan  

• Working hours: Full-time. 

• Shift of the Senior Producer  

• From Monday to Friday 

• Flexibility required: weekend and evening work can be required
