Job summary
The correspondent journalist is responsible for covering news from a country or geographical area, either from within or outside of it.
The correspondent journalist is capable of handling breaking news stories (last-minute topics, live coverage) and providing new perspectives on current events or covering a variety of topics from diverse sources.
The correspondent journalist reports hierarchically to an Editor in Chief attached to the Central Newsroom in Brussels and is assigned to one of the Euronews offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Write articles, produce reports (text and/or video), and participate in live broadcasts (on-camera or mobile device) as requested by the Chief Editor
- Contribute to the writing of articles, the production of reports, magazines, or video stories by providing the point of view or images from the country of installation and following the guidelines of the Chief Editor
- Supervise European news and closely follow news from the country (or geographical area) of installation, pursuing leads to propose topics of interest to the European public to the Chief Editor
- Develop a strong local network to quickly respond to major events and breaking news situations.
- Conduct live broadcasts from mobile devices
- Be active on social media both for information gathering and communication purposes
- Be willing to travel to where events are taking place and be capable of covering their development live on the ground.
- Provide regular reports to the Editor in Chief
- Represent Euronews in the region (conferences, forums, etc.)
Your profile
- Education level required: 4/5 years’ higher education – journalism qualification or equivalent
- Experience in shooting, writing, editing, and mixing video subjects, and on-camera presentation.
- Strong on-camera presence and excellent on-camera presentation skills
- Writing skills
- Ability to handle live information processing situations.
- Good knowledge of global news and European politics
- Ability to work alone (MOJO)
- In-depth understanding of all audiovisual communication techniques (writing, editing, shooting, broadcasting, etc.)
- Good knowledge of social media
- Good understanding of the system for exchanging videos and information between international agencies.
- Experience in web journalism and proficiency in specific software
- Language skills: Excellent command and professional practice of Polish (C2 level). Fluent English (C1 minimum level). Proficiency in French and any additional “Euronews” languages is a plus.
- High level of general culture and a keen interest in current events

Further Information :
- Location : Warsaw
- Contract type : one year fixed term
- Working hours: full time, from Monday to Friday
- Flexibility required : weekend or evening work can be required
- Start date : November 2024
