Job Summary

Euronews is looking for Hosts for Brussels My Love? our flagship EU-wide political talk show debating the most important European political, economic, social evolutions of our times, including the main events of the Brussels-based political life as well as the activities and decisions of the main European institutions.

Euronews currently produces Brussels My Love? in English, German and Spanish, with the host and
guests speaking these languages respectively.

Thanks to the success, it will be produced very soon in Italian, French, Portuguese and Greek.

We are looking for the next host/anchor to prepare and present:

- Bruxelles t’amo non t’amo ? in Italian

- Βρυξέλλες Σε αγαπώ ? in Greek

- Bruxelas Eu amo-te ? in Portuguese

- Bruxelles je t’aime ? en français

The format consists of a dedicated Euronews top journalist hosting 3 guests in our Brussels newsroom studio, animating a lively debate of opposing views with participants from the political or associative fields as well as experts and analysts who analyze and put the debate into context.

The talk show puts emphasis on debating the European political landscape following the 2024 European Elections, focusing on the new governance, the new alliances, the initiatives, and programmes ahead, and on how Europeans' lives will be impacted directly and indirectly by the newly composed Parliament and ensuing institutions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Content edit, present and conduct interviews at the highest editorial and production standards and respect of Euronews’ fundamental editorial values, identity, style and positioning
Presenting in a clear, concise, and factual manner.
Collaborate with the other anchors and staff shows
Assist with research and fact-checking as needed
Writing and assisting with copy editing of all scripts
Revising scripts
Creating and maintaining a network of contacts
Assist with other duties as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Success in this role requires a great understanding of visual storytelling both on air and online, and the importance of social media as an integral platform for reaching our audiences and sharing our storytelling.

The successful candidates are creative, organized, curious and efficient.

Technical Skills

Education level required: 4/5 years’ higher education – journalism qualification or equivalent
Language skills: excellent command and professional practice of the language concerned: Greek, French, Portuguese or Italian
3+ years’ of experience in hosting talk shows and similar productions. Accustomed to working within a multicultural and multilingual setting
Excellent eye for a story and good interview skills
Broad general knowledge allowing him/her to cover a variety of topics.
Great knowledge and great interest for EU affairs
Well-connected in the Brussel bubble
Able to understand euronews processes, constraints and production deadlines
Very good digital culture and fluency in the use of technology and web design.

Location : Brussels, on site presence requested
Contract type: free-lance / or fixed term contract
20 hours per week, from Tuesday morning to Thursday noon.
